Kina Biography

Kina In the tradtion of Whitney Houston and Tina Turner comes a new girl in town. Only she, unbelievably, has just as much energy and twice the attitude of her predecessors. Her name is Kina, and she is the newest orange-haired vocally-inclined r&b/pop artist to hit the market this year.

With the look and the sound of a star, native Detroit artist Kina is set to make her mark. She proudly declares "with this album, I've been totally honest. Kina left Brownstone in 1997 to give a shot at a solo career, and although it took her three years to achieve that goal, her moment has arrived. Kina was released in July, 2000 with the help of producer London Jones. Featuring eleven stellar tracks, the album's fate rests upon the success of its number one single "Girl From The Gutter", which has seen considerable airtime thus far.

Although the comparisons to the workhorse Tina Turner have been numerous, the one Kina would perhaps like most is to someday have a career that matches Tina's in both length and magnitude. She's well on her way...
