Only 16 / Poor Little Fool

Only 16 / Poor Little Fool Terry Black, originally from Vancouver B.C., began his professional career singing as a teenager on a local Vancouver music show in the early 60's. Black became so popular that he was signed to a recording contract with ARC Records in 1964.

His first single for ARC Records was "Unless You Care", and featured a young session guitarist by the name of Glen Campbell. Black released a number of singles in 1964 & 65 and became Canada's first and biggest teen sensation. The success of these singles and tours across Canada lead to the release of Black’s debut album in 1965, Only 16 - Poor Little Fool, which was merely a collection of his hit singles.

The album contained a dozen beat styled songs, eight of which were written and produced by the team of Philip F. Sloan and Steve Barri, who were responsible for a number of hits for other artists during the mid-60's .

Black’s hit singles, "Unless You Care", "Everyone Can Tell", "Say It Again", "Little Liar", "Only Sixteen" and "Poor Little Fool" were all contained on this set.

The album also contains two Lennon/McCartney penned covers, “Bad To Me” and “World Without Love” that were hits for Billy J Kramer and Peter & Gordon respectively . This release by Unidisc Records, is the very first CD reissue of the original 1965 Arc Records album. It is released at a budget price complete with original artwork and digitally mastered sound but unfortunately it contains no bonus tracks.
