Take Off Your Pants & Jacket
Play to the radio and the gravy that comes with major exposure or play to the roots of the movement and the purists that carefully watch over it. Such is the Ying and the Yang of punk music and sides of the coin that Blink 182 have mastered as perhaps no other bad, with the exception of maybe Green Day.

Pervious hit albums like Enema of the State did not pack a hard-hitting punch but helped to push punk music into a wider lens. Thousands of people immediately found a musical voice and thousands more enjoyed the simple yet intriging allure of MTV staples "All The Small Things" and "What's My Age Again?". A collective voice rang out "to hell with the purity of the music and give us something we can rock to!".

Such is the backdrop to Take Off You Pants & Jacket (ahem), Blink 182's latest release

and follow up to their recent Mark Tom and Travis Show offering. The title, however tongue-in-cheek, should serve as a small warning to eager, well-meaning parents. This, although light-hearted, is not music for twelve year olds (although beg they will). Blink 182 have had a long-standing fascination with masturbation (not to mention the evil F-word) and the title only strengthen's their intimate bond with the subject.

Oh, and the music? The music is spastic and self-serving, much like the band themselves, but gleefully addictive. Even going into a listening session knowing what to expect (and getting it), the songs twist and bob with no defined intention. Much more of this and the Blinking Boys with need a name change to Twitch 101. Verdict: cheese, but definately not Feta. This is the kind that tastes good with burgers and a cold...coke.
