Moxy was formed in 1974 by Buzz Shearman from the ashes of his previous act, Leigh Ashford. The same year the band was formed it was signed to Polydor records in Canada, mainly due to the popularity of and success Leigh Ashford and Buzz Shearman’s reputation.
The band achieved moderate success with the few albums it released until 1983, when Buzz Shearman died as a result of a motorcycle accident.

The band's first album was recorded in California in only two weeks with co-producer Mark Smith and as luck would have it, guitarist Tommy Bolin was recording next door. Bolin was so impressed with Moxy he added some guitar work to the LP. ...Read More

This album saw a more laid back style in the sound of Moxy with a strong concentration on a blues styling rather than hard rock. The vocal work of Reno was not as strong or dynamic as Shearman’s and the entire album lacked the punch of the band’s earlier works.
